Thursday morning’s first free practice session took place in dry conditions. Teams were allowed to run both their bikes, and that had a knock-on effect on the amount of traffic on the track.

Michelin riders posted the two best times in the course the two free practice sessions ahead of the 8 Hours of Oschersleben.
The best time (1m 28.834s) was the work of YART-Michelin which was the only team to lap underneath the 1m 29s barrier.
