YART’s Igor Jerman, Steve Martin and Gwen Giabbani overcame the extremely difficult weather conditions in Japan to put in a storming race which bagged fourth overall at the flag. Their performance puts the team just one point short of the 2009 Endurance World Championship title.

The fastest rider for YART in the second qualifying session was once again Gwen Giabbani, although he was unfortunately unnable to repeat his time of the morning because of a troubled lap when running with the rear qualifying tyre.

YART profited from the first qualifying session at Suzuka to post the 10th quickest time thanks to Gwen Giabbbani’s flying lap of 2m 11.638s.
His performance makes YART the best-placed permanent team on the provisional grid.

Thursday morning’s first free practice session took place in dry conditions. Teams were allowed to run both their bikes, and that had a knock-on effect on the amount of traffic on the track.
